Pokéname Docs
Welcome to the official documentation for Pokéname — the fastest, most accurate Pokémon identifier and naming companion bot for Discord.
What is Pokéname?
Pokéname is a Discord bot that watches Pokémon spawns from bots like Pokétwo, recognises the Pokémon from its image using AI, and instantly posts the name in chat. On top of identification, it powers shiny‑hunt pings, collection lists, regional/rare alerts, starboards, anti‑steal warnings, auto‑locks and much more — everything serious trainers ask for, in one place.
The bot supports ~1300 Pokémon and forms with near 99.99% accuracy, and ships with both prefix commands (default -) and slash commands.
Quick start
- Invite Pokéname to your server: Invite link.
- Make sure Pokéname has Send Messages, Embed Links and Add Reactions in the channel where your Pokémon spawning bot is active.
- That's it — it starts naming spawns automatically. No setup required for the core feature.
- To tune features for your server, use commands like
-toggle, the Dashboard, or the Commands page.
What you can do
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Identification | Auto-names every Pokémon that spawns. Supports text-only or image embeds. |
| Shiny hunting | Per-server or global shiny lists. Members get pinged when their target spawns. |
| Collection | Per-user collection lists with optional role-based limits (Premium). |
| Quest pings | Pings users when Pokémon from selected regions spawn. |
| Starboards | Auto-relay rare / regional spawns to a starboard channel. |
| Steal warnings | Premium safety net — warn users who catch into someone else's shinyhunt or collection, with configurable timeouts. |
| Auto-Lock | Premium — automatically lock channels after spawns to enforce naming/catching rules. |
| Backgrounds & shop | Decorate naming embeds with collectible background art. |
How to read these docs
This documentation is intentionally tight — two pages, no fluff.
- This page introduces what Pokéname is, how to add it, and what's possible.
- Commands lists every command grouped by feature, with usage, aliases, and required permissions.
On the left you'll find the docs nav; on small screens it collapses into a menu at the top of the page. Use the in-page anchors on the Commands page to jump straight to a category.
Default prefix and slash commands
The default prefix is -. So -help and /help do the same thing.
You can change the prefix per-server with -setprefix <prefix> (admin only). Throughout the docs you'll see commands written as -commandname — substitute your own prefix if you changed it, or use the slash variant.
Premium
A few features are gated behind Pokéname Premium — they're marked with a Premium badge in the Commands page. The Premium upgrade itself is purchased via PayPal and managed through the Dashboard or the in-bot -premium command.
